How Chemical Peeling Works
Every chemical peel procedure is different and the mechanical actions of the treatment vary depending on the makeup of the selected chemical peel preparation. The exfoliating action of all Chemical Peeling treatments stimulate the cellular turnover of the outer portion of the skin - purging the skin of surplus and exposing a skin that is healthy, clear and bright in appearance. Each chemical peel has an individual ability to selectively permeate the superficial layers of the skin, thereby delivering active ingredients to a supervised depth.
Once administered, the active ingredients activate a multitude of cellular processes within the skin.

Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs)
Naturally derived from many fruits and dairy products, AHA's exert their effects in the destruction and removal of defected and damaged tissue.
In the regeneration of healthy tissue - The Travelling Peelsman uses Malic, Tartaric and Citric Acids, with the exception of glycolic acid.
Lactic Acid is also used, and acts to regenerate healthy tissue, whilst contributing to the production of Hyaluronic Acid – a water-binding molecule – essential for skin hydration and function.
Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHAs)
The Travelling Peelsman uses BHA's, namely Salicylic Acid, which traverse deep within the skin, absorbing excess oil secretions and dissolving trapped keratin deposits.
Salicylic Acid is also highly antimicrobial - it alleviates infection and suppresses the inflammatory response.
Topical Vitamin-A
The Travelling Peelsman uses Topical Vitamin-A – also known as Retinoic Acid – and is integral for normal skin functioning. It is used particularly to treat skin conditions characterized by poor differentiation and DNA damage.
It also improves vascular supply to the skin, increasing oxygen supply, stimulating cellular turnover and thereby removing surplus skin. Vitamin-A retards oil secretion and thus improves pore visibility and delivers maximum anti-oxidant defence.
Deep Sea Peel
The Travelling Peelsman uses a formulation of non-acidic plant and herbal based ingredients - which stimulate significant cellular turnover.
